Talisker is the oldest Single Malt Scotch Whisky distillery made by the sea on the shores of the Isle of Skye, one of the most remote, rugged, yet beautiful landscapes in Scotland. Few whiskies tell the story of their origin better than Talisker. Its smell and taste instantly connect the drinker with the rugged environment – like a warm welcome from a wild sea. It’s a powerhouse; challenging but adored; once discovered rarely left.

Delicious, appetisingly dry and fully mature. This beautifully orchestrated variation of Talisker has a lingering finish which cannot outstay its welcome.

Serving Suggestion:
A rich and smooth Talisker which should be enjoyed in a Talisker Rocks Glass, neat or with a little water.

Region Something both gentle and deep from the Isle of Skye.
Appearance Warm gold.
Body Smooth and firm in body.
Nose Unreduced, a quiet nose, not hugely assertive, yet quite maritime. Fresh ship’s varnish. Faint nose prickle. Spicy, briny, with distant smoke.
Palate At bottled strength, a gentle start, immediately building in intensity. Slow and sweet, then kicks in peppery and hot, with significant balancing bitterness and salt, and a little smoke.
Finish Long, warming, slightly bitter and very drying, with a little smokiness.

Insights from some of the best in the business

Comes across initially to me as reserved, perhaps even elegant for a Talisker. Soothing too, with an oily texture. Quite fruity (orange, tangerine, apricot), perhaps even floral, with a delicate pastry sweetness. Then the more traditional Talisker notes kick in -- brine, seaweed, warming pepper -- repeated in the finish. A high-quality Talisker; albeit a bit reserved at times. I love the oily, viscous texture.
