The Singleton of Dufftown was built during the reign of Queen Victoria. And though the traditional methods, centuries of craft and ancient water source remain, Dufftown – the smoothest of the family of three – is on a mission to create new, great tasting Single Malt Scotch Whiskies that burst with flavour.

The Singleton of Dufftown Tailfire is a vibrant evocation of Dufftown’s fruity character bursts with notes of fresh red berries and sweet vanilla aromas thanks to the influence of European oak casks. Understated, yet revealing a rich and indulgent character, with pleasing fruit, rich sweetness, and oak leading to a very elegant, drying, and aromatic conclusion. This is a bottle only item, limited quantities available.

Serving Suggestion:
Best enjoyed neat or with ice to let the flavours run. Alternatively, pair with dark chocolate and fresh red berries for a richer taste experience.

Region A striking, ageless Speyside.
Appearance Rich amber. Striking.
Body Medium bodied and smooth.
Nose Ripe bananas, then soft, plump and delicate, with dried orange peel. As it opens up there’s ripe red apple, and a note of vibrant cut grass or pine resin.
Palate Syrupy and noticeably tongue-coating. Initial notes of barley malt and green grass soon soften into fruitier jam and plum skins before a firmer structure takes over.
Finish Sweet and minty, then agreeably smooth; elegant, rich and oaky with velvety chocolate and a creamy hint of coconut, leading to a faintly smoky, aromatic conclusion with orange oil, oak and cedar.

Insights from some of the best in the business

A high proportion of European oak cask matured whisky has been used to produce Tailfire … excellent choices for a whisky beginner, while also having enough depth to maintain the interest of more seasoned whisky drinkers.
